MFA (Multi Factor Authentication) Registration
This is a required process for all new accounts
When you first sign into your new Zinc account, you will be asked to set up 2 forms of Multi-Factor Authentication.
Please follow the steps below to complete this process.
- Navigate to Office.com
- Log in using the credentials provided by the tech team.
- After completing the username & password prompts, you will be asked to give more info.
- Press "Next" and proceed to the next screen.
- You will be asked to set up 2 forms of authentication from 3 possible options:
- Microsoft Authenticator Phone Application
- Text Message Authentication
- Personal Email Authentication
- Before you get started, you will need to make sure you have a smartphone, the Microsoft Authenticator app is available on the Apple and Google app stores.
- Make sure your app version is up-to-date older versions can cause login issues!

- Once you have the app, click "Next" and follow the onscreen instructions.
- You will then be presented on screen with a QR code to scan with the phone app.
- On the app click the plus icon in the upper right-hand corner.
- You will then be presented with the below options
- Choose "Work or School Account"
- Then select "Scan QR Code"
- Once scanned it will send an access approval to your phone
- Approve the sign in and your app is now setup.
- To choose one of the alternative methods, click on the link in the lower left corner.
- Select the first alternative method, which will have to be Text via phone.
- On the next screen, it will ask for your phone number
- It will then send and ask you to confirm a text message.
- if you fail to receive the text from Microsoft please make sure you have set the country code correctly.
- For the second method you again have the choice to use the Microsoft Authenticator app or now email
- If you now choose email as an option, the process is the same as phone, enter your email address and it will send a confirmation code.
- Ensure you use a PERSONAL EMAIL address when using this method, it will not work using your work address.
